Why do I love gaming?
It's because it's my main escape from reality option and has created bonds ranging from my brother and his friends, to my own friends and people online.
What games do I play competitively?
As of right now, I currently play Super Smash Bros. Melee and Wii U. Although I don't play locally due to my preference of focusing on school, I watch the big tournaments that are streamed online, play online when I have time, and have a few friends that have the same interests in competitive Smash. All while going by the gamertag of "Gambit".
What games do I consider that are some of my favorite games of all time?
- Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001, GCN) (Smooth, tight gameplay that became an accident competitively due to overlooked mechanics. It's great, simple as that.)
- Star Fox 64 (1997, N64) (Loved this game a lot when I was younger, still love it to this day. A bit repetitive and short, but great and encourages multiple playthroughs.)
- Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (2000, Arcade) (Huge roster, which half consists of X-Men, versatile gameplay, and unique music make it a classic. Also a competitive mess when it's literally held by tape and glue as one developer puts it. Too bad the newest game is total garbage though.)
- Super Mario Odyssey (2017, Switch) (I'd consider it Game of the Year to be honest. It has very fluid movement, gives a bunch of activities to do, and gives nods to even the most obscure Mario stuff. If you think this game is easy, just try to get some of the moons before you complain on how it is still easy, because trust me, it is not as easy as you think.)
- Super Metroid (1994, SNES) (Everything about it is great. Control is great, music is great, mechanics are great, story is great, everything is great.)
